Lets say you are hosting a reseller under the domain name donshosting.com.
Your 'server' has the following IP addresses assigned to it:
72.29.2.2 <- primary IP address
72.29.2.3 <- 2nd IP address
72.29.2.4 <- 3rd IP address
Don wants his own nameserver addresses, so you tell him to register these addresses via the registrar his domain donshosting.com is registered through:
ns1.donshosting.com - 72.29.2.3
ns2.donshosting.com - 72.29.2.4
Note that we used the 2nd and 3rd IP address assigned to the server.
Next, you select "Edit DNS Zone" from the DNS Functions menu in WHM. You choose to edit the donshosting.com zone file. At the bottom of the page below "Add New Entries Below this Line" you fill out the form to include the following and then click the Save button:
ns1 14400 IN A 72.29.2.3
ns2 14400 IN A 72.29.2.4
Last, you open the Reseller Center area located under the Resellers menu in WHM. Select donshosting.com from the "Select a Reseller:" drop down menu, and then select the "Edit Privileges/Nameservers" option. Scroll to the bottom of the page and enter "ns1.donshosting.com" and "ns2.donshosting.com" as the primary and secondary nameserver. Then click the Save button.
Now the reseller can use his own nameserver addresses.
